The Building Division is responsible for the enforcement of the Building and Fire Safety Codes by conducting inspections and processing permits. The purpose of the codes is to protect the public health, safety and welfare in all buildings and structures.
The Code Enforcement office of the Town is responsible for responding to complaints made with regards to property owners not meeting proper standards. If you wish to make a report about a property, please come to the DPS office to complete the required form.
The Engineering Division includes the Sewer Inspection Division, the Geographic Information system (GIS) and is responsible for review of information regarding designs and specifications for the construction of various projects throughout the Town. This Department also provides inspection of the projects during construction to ensure compliance with Town standards. The Sewer Inspector will inspect sewer line repairs and maintain critical sanitary sewer data such as new connections, infrastructure updates,
and record map accessibility.
The Planning Division regulates land development throughout the Town. Responsible for reviews of sign plan applications, all development proposals and provides information to both the
Planning and Zoning Boards.
The Public Works Division is responsible for maintaining the conditions of the Town-owned roads. In order to provide safe travel on our roads we are responsible for patching, brush trimming, maintaining drainage lines and catch basins, and snow removal. The sewer maintenance crew is responsible for maintaining town-owned sewer lines.
The Zoning office regulates how land can be utilized and developed throughout the Town. For developers and property owners a Zoning Board meets monthly to review and make decisions regarding various allowances
for land use.
