Welcome to the Town of Johnston, Rhode Island. Johnston was established as a Town in 1759. At the present time, 28,000 people call Johnston home. Our community includes a wide variety of individuals from various cultural and ethnic backgrounds. A prominent feature in our Town is the Johnston War Memorial Park, centrally located at 1583 Hartford Avenue. Our Town is also home to another gem: the Dame Farm, a farm which dates back to colonial times. Johnston welcomes our corporate citizens as well, including FM Global, Bank of America, AIPSO, and A&H Manufacturing. Because of its geographical location, situated at the major intersection of Rt. 6 (E/W) and Rt. 295 (N/S), Johnston is enjoying an expansion of its economic development efforts and broadening the tax base to keep the residential tax rate stable and also bringing new business into the Town including: The Home Depot, Burlington Coat Factory, Metro Honda, and the Hurd Hummer dealership.Johnston openly welcomes members of the business community and invites you to share in the growth and success of our Town.
